Vineyards

Dutton Ranch farms a total of 1,200 acres of premium wine grapes using the Sustainable Winegrowing Program. The total acreage is made up of 80 different vineyard sites ranging from 0.8 vine acres to 92 vine acres in size. Seventy-nine of the vineyard sites (~1,182 acres) are within the Russian River Valley AVA with 68 of those (~985 acres) being within the Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA. All of our vineyards are in the Sonoma Coast AVA.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the predominant varieties growing in the Dutton Ranch vineyards. We have 17 different clones of Chardonnay and 14 different clones of Pinot Noir planted. Additionally, Dutton Ranch produces Sauvignon Blanc (2 clones), Syrah (5 clones), Zinfandel (a heritage clone), Pinot Blanc, and a small block of Viognier.

The majority of our grapes are picked by hand and we deliver our grapes to more than 115 different wineries. Harvesting grapes is a skilled job that requires speed and precision. The harvest season is a high intensity time at Dutton Ranch that often requires long days and dedication by everyone on our team.
